Day 1 Cochin This day arrive Cochin Airport. Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at Cochin. Day 2 Cochin In the morning proceed for a half day city tour of Cochin. Places of interest at Kochi are The Dutch Palace (Fridays closed), Jewish Synagogue (Saturdays closed), St.Francis Church, Dutch Cemetery, the Chinese fishing nets at the entrance of Cochin Harbour, and Willingdon Island - a manmade island made from materials dredged while deepening Cochin port. In the evening proceed for Kathakali Show at Cultural Centre. Overnight at Cochin. Day 3 Thekkady In the morning, check out of your hotel and drive to Thekkady (5hrs). Arrive Thekkady early afternoon and check into your hotel. Thekkady-777 sq.km of lush green tropical forests is the natural habitat of elephant, bison, spotted deer, sambar, bear and many colorful birds etc. Periyar sanctuary, the main attraction of Thekkady, is one of the best sanctuaries in India for watching and photographing elephants at close quarters. Day would be free at leisure. Overnight at Thekkady. Day 4 Thekkady This day proceed for a boat cruise on Lake Periyar which spreads over an area of 25 sq.km, to view animals in their natural surroundings. Later in the evening visit the local market, tea estates, spice plantations. Overnight at Thekkady. Day 5 Kumarakom In the morning, leave Thekkady for Kumarakom (4hrs) by car. Arrive Kumarakom by noon and transfer to your hotel. Kumarakom, a charming village on the eastern bank of Vembanadu Lake surrounded by paddy fields, is an ideal place for a backwater cruise. In the evening, visit the bird sanctuary and later return to your hotel. Overnight at Kumarakom. Day 6 Kovalam In the morning, leave Kumarakom for Kovalam (5hrs) by car. Arrive Kovalam and check into your hotel. Kovalam is India's most spectacular beach resort, just 16 km from Trivandrum. The clear water in Kovalam is ideal for swimming, surfing and skiing. Facilities like Ayurvedic massage, yoga, water sports etc are available here. Day would be free at leisure. Overnight at Kovalam. Day 7 Kovalam In the morning, leave the hotel for a city tour of Trivandrum which is half an hour away. Trivandrum, a sprawling 74 sq km city, is the capital of Kerala. The great variety of lovely old colonial and traditional Kerala buildings give Trivandrum a special ambience. The main attractions are the Govt. Art Museum, Sri Chitra Art Gallery, The Zoological Garden, Padmanabhaswamy Temple (entry restricted), Caudiyar Palace, Museum and Veli Tourist village. Return to Kovalam in the evening. Overnight at Kovalam. Day 8 Overseas Transfer to Trivandrum International Airport for the flight to your onward destination.
